Every Christmas our organization tries to teach our members something special about the Danish traditions. Earlier, we have made Christmas decoration, learned Danish Christmas songs, enjoyed traditional Christmas lunch. This year we decided to learn how to make traditional Christmas sweets. This enjoyable Danish tradition is about the whole family coming together to make sweets and bake Christmas cookies.
We asked a Danish member of our organization, who is also a father, to teach children from Russian families how to make Christmas treats. He worried that he would be left without homemade treats for Christmas as his own children are all grown up now, and he does not have any grandchildren yet. It is difficult to say who enjoyed spent time together more: the children or the teacher. In any case all the participants gained something from this experience: children learned a new for them Danish tradition, and the teacher received a basket of freshly baked Christmas treats.
