The first women – brunch with pioneers

”Women of the world in Denmark” commemorate this year that 100 years ago women in Denmark could run for parliamentary elections in Denmark. In cooperation with FIU-equality, we organize a brunch, where we have invited the pioneers of our generation – the first politically active women with an ethnical background.

What can we learn from the pioneers – the first politically active women? At the brunch meeting, the front-running women with ethnical minority background get the chance to tell about the barriers, they have come upon and to inspire others to move forward.

The target group for this event is everyone, who is interested in democracy and diversity in gender and culture. We want to network and help each other move forward: inspire ethnical minority women to participate in Danish politics.

Attendance is free; however, registration is necessary. Register at kontakt@verdenskvinder.dk, giving your birthday and name no later than April 26th, 2017. We have a limited number of seats, so the seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The brunch will be served by the Work Integration Social Enterprise (WISE), Send More Spices, who employ women from all over the world and is responsible for the culinary part of the World Cultural Centre.

Potential questions can be e-mailed to kontakt@verdenskvinder.dk

Facilitator: Alma Bekturganova Andersen, Chairwoman for Women of the World in Denmark.
