How do women’s associations of etchnic minorities become visible?

Our Association takes the initiative to arrange an experience development meeting for representatives from associations of  ethnic minority women. We suggest that we discuss how we can best tell the outside world about our associations? What means and methods are most appropriate and work most effectively? What can we learn from each other?

We are inviting to a dialogue meeting, where everyone can tell about their experiences and hear others ‘ stories – successful or just educational. You can hear,  for example, about, what challenges Anaam Jaber Aljadri from  Interkulturelt Kvinderådwomen’s ( Intercultural Women’s Council) and Huda Al-Kazwine from the Silk Road Culture have met in their attempt to represent the associations and their activities. Ayan Mouhoumed and Manna Mohamoud from Ethniqa Magazine will also contribute to a joint talk.
At the meeting the Association Verdens Kvinder i Danmark will show a new video clip, using sand animation as an example of how to present the Association. You can also meet the creator of the video clip and exchange contact information with her.
The meeting will end with a presentation from the sisters Ozcetin, newcomers from Turkey, who have opened their own design studio called Hamide. They tell about the particularity of minimalist and Scandinavian design that makes each product unique.

The meeting takes place on May 9th 17.00-19.00 , VerdensKulturCentret room 303.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. You can contact us via e-mail mail kontakt@verdenskvinder.dk
